The project We've Got Style consisted of writing storybooks, that could have a series of nine poems, a biography, or a fictional story.
The We’ve Got Style project was mostly an individual project, besides giving others critique. While writing the storybooks, I gave my best effort to critique others work as much as I could, as well as others critiqued my work. Critique was very helpful while writing my book, because getting different people’s opinions makes all of the difference between a story from one opinion and one with many opinions. In general, I feel like I got a lot done working by myself, and never got distracted.
I feel like I used work ethic very effectively throughout the project, as I was constantly focused and determined to make my visions become realities. Since I enjoy writing, creating my storybook was super fun, and I always wanted to work on it. This came to my advantage; I was very motivated to work, so I ended up spending very much time on my book. In terms of communication, I talked with my peers on ways that I could alter my book for the better. Also, I had a very well sense of time management in this project. I was always very focused to get my work done, and I ended up finishing my storybook early. This left me time to add details, and change anything that I wasn’t too fond of.
In terms of class values, I think I best demonstrated grit in the beginning of the project. Before finalizing my decision of what I was going to do for my book, I tried poetry, biography, and a fictional story. When I started, I already knew in the back of my mind that I wanted to do fictional writing, but I wanted to give the others a try as well. After trying the options, I settled for poetry, but later decided that I’d rather do fiction. It was a lot of switching, but at least I got to try something new. When we did gallery walks where everyone set out there work, I made sure to be respectful to others work.
All in all, I was very proud of my final outcome. I worked super hard on my storybook, and seeing the final result was worth it. Overall I would grade myself an A+ for this project, due to my perseverance and dedication. Completing this project was a great experience, and I enjoyed it a lot. In all, I am satisfied with how my storybook came out, with all the hard work and details I put into it.
